The surname Vidic’ appears in Ravna Gora in 1861 for the first time when George marries. His mothers name appears as “Margaret” and he is listed as being illegitimate. He is frequently associated with the Buric’ family. I suspect that his mother was originally a Buric’ but have no idea how the Vidic’ surname came into play. The only Vidic’ that lived in Ravna Gora were his wife and children-no aunts/uncles/grandparents/siblings etc. George was born in 1830 and he died in 1897 in Travnik(?).
I’m hoping to find out where my Vidic’ surname originally came from- why was George in Travnik when he died?
Did Margaret marry a Vidic’ after the illegitimate birth of her child and after she passed- did young George return to his Buric’ roots in Ravna Gora?
I have so many questions and theories but I’m hoping to find some answers or get some leads.
