Vinzenz Wenzel Pilz, an ancestor of mine, who was a forester, should have emigrated about 1830 from Bohemia to Slavonia. I don’t know, where he lives in Slavonia. He later reappears in Bohemia, where he married as a widower again. Now I found a photo in a family album, which was recorded by an professional photographer at Vukovar and shows two grave stones on which I can read: “Vjekoslav Pilz, vlastel Šumar, * .prosinca 21.12.1834 + 21 9. 1894 Ruina“ and (German and Serbian – in Cyrillic „“Karoline /Draginja Pilc ( Драгиња Пилц) *2.5.1834, + 3.8.1887 and “Peace to their ashes (in german)“.
I suspect, that Vjekoslav is the sun von Vinzenz Wenzel Pilz.
Vjekoslav Pilz appeares as a member in the Croatian Forestry Association („Pilz Vjekoslav, vlast, šumar, Negoslavce, Vukovar, 1876“. Emails to the croatian forestry association and to parish offices in Vukovar remained. unanswered. Can someone give me tips on further search (eg marriage of Vinzenz Wenzel Pilz, death of his wife, other children)?
LivnogenGuestGuten Tag Herr Pilz,

livnogen@gmail.comWolfgang PilzGuestVielen Dank,
fast sicher war er katholisch. Vielleicht aber war sie Serbin (Grabinschrift cyrillisch) und orthodox?
